Rest day
200 push-ups (10, 20, 30, 40, 30, 20, 10, 40)
250 abs
The back to back milage this weekend made my groin muscles and hamstrings a bit sore. I think it was mainly flying downhill at 5:40 in the race that did it (my feet were almost on literally on fire, just a few degree from combustion). At the very least, it made me really hungry to race on the trails again, and appreciate the trails and all the potential they hold. I kind of regret not staying out in front at the xterra race (this is all Jimmy's fault for the bad course tips), but I'll be ready for these shorter sprints if there's another race again.
I'm looking to do the Shadow of the Giants 50k in 17 days if it's not already filled. It's at 5-6,000 feet altitude, but the terrain is beautiful and runnable, and that's all that matters. I'll go for a good time, and enjoy myself thoroughly regardless of the results. I really feel strong and confident right now. I know my legspeed isn't all there yet, but my body is readily accepting the workouts and responding successively well. Who knows what this summer holds.. but I can say right now I'm feeling pretty ambitious.
